The questions suppliers ask us first.
Most wholesale applications stall because the answers are hard to find. Here they are, in plain language, before you have to ask.
What is Stoneport Supply?
We are an independent wholesale distribution company. We purchase products at wholesale, hold them as our own inventory, and sell them to customers through both retail and online channels.
We are the buyer of record: we take title to the goods and carry the inventory risk ourselves.
Which channels do you distribute through?
Both physical and digital. On the retail side: independent stockists, specialty shops, regional chains, and buying groups. On the digital side: national online channels and our own direct-to-consumer storefront. We are not an online-only distributor.
We confirm the specific channels for your line in writing before the first order, and we do not distribute into any channel your agreement excludes.
Do you adhere to MAP policies?
Yes, without exception. We treat your published minimum advertised price as a floor, audit our own pricing regularly, and do not use coupons, bundles, or promotional mechanics that would put the effective price below policy.
If a line cannot work at your pricing, we tell you rather than discount it quietly.
Do you drop-ship or sell on consignment?
No. We buy inventory outright and hold it. You are paid on the purchase order, not on what sells through, and you carry no inventory risk on our account.
What are your payment terms?
New accounts start on prepayment by ACH, wire transfer, or business credit card. Once we have an order history together we will complete a credit application and move to Net 30, or whatever terms your process allows.
Do you have a resale certificate and a W-9?
Yes. We hold a current resale certificate and provide a signed Form W-9, a certificate of insurance, business registration details, and trade or bank references with every wholesale application.
We send the full packet up front rather than making you request items one at a time. See our documentation for the complete list.
What order sizes should we expect?
Opening orders are sized to the category and to your stated minimums, and are typically modest so we can validate demand before committing to volume.
Once a line proves out we move to a regular reorder cadence and share forecasts your production team can plan against.
Do you require exclusivity?
No. We do not ask for exclusive rights and we do not expect you to restrict other distributors on our behalf. We would rather earn the volume than be handed it.
How do you protect brand integrity?
Three ways:
- We hold your published pricing in every channel we operate in.
- We use only your approved imagery and product content.
- We take responsibility for customer service and returns, so the buying experience reflects your brand properly.
We also do not re-wholesale your product to third parties we have not vetted.
Where is inventory warehoused?
Inventory is held in our managed facility in [CITY], [STATE], with additional capacity added as volume requires. Stock is insured while in our care and a certificate of insurance is available on request.
How do we get started?
Submit the wholesale account application, or email [PARTNERS_EMAIL] with your line sheet and channel policy.
We read every inquiry ourselves and respond the same business day. From first contact to an opening order is typically one to two weeks.
Still have a question?
Ask it directly — we would rather answer now than have you guess.
